Some Muslims say my comic is haram. Here’s why I don’t care.

Constantinople, early 1400’s. A mother makes a desperate choice to save her son.

The consequences? Unthinkable.

This is the premise of “The Lesser Evil,” our new comic that’s causing a bit of an uproar in the Muslim community.

Why? Two reasons:

  1. We’ve got background music in our trailer.

  2. We’re making a comic book with drawn characters.

Now, let’s cool it with the pearl-clutching:

There’s a spectrum of opinions in Islamic fiqh about both music and drawings. Some scholars say it’s haram. Others disagree.

We follow the more lenient (but still valid) opinions. Why? Because we’re not here to run a Dar ul Uloom. We’re here to tell a damn good story.

If you’re looking for saccharine manga fan art (“look, my waifu is wearing a hijab! tee heee“), go elsewhere. If you want a gripping tale that takes you into deep themes related to the deen, stick around.

Our 37-second trailer showcases:

  • A Byzantine empire crumbling from within

  • Ancient cults manipulating history’s shadows

  • Decent people facing impossible moral choices

Early readers are calling the Brotherhood of the Wolf series “The Witcher but with Ottoman vibes.”

The trailer is live now, but it won’t be up forever. Watch it here: The Untold Tragedy That Birthed A Dark Hero.

Fair warning: This isn’t your typical “Salam, sidi” content. It’s gritty. It’s intense. It’ll make you think.

Picture this: A scarred Muslim warrior stands atop ancient walls, torn between duty and conscience as vampire nobles feast below. His past? Checkered. His faith? Tested. His sword? About to taste undead flesh.

Or would you rather watch another Uber driver named “Mo” talk about his disappointing kids?

The choice is yours. But choose fast – this trailer isn’t sticking around.

Wes

P.S. Still on the fence? Ask yourself: When was the last time you saw Muslims portrayed as complex, flawed, heroic characters in a fantasy epic? This might be your only chance. Don’t miss it.
