As a Serdengeçti of the Ottoman Sublime Porte (an elite warrior who volunteers for the deadliest missions), Koja has an incredible presence on the battlefield. In fact, his ability to intercept attacks meant for allies is almost unmatched in the world of Brotherhood of the Wolf, and with his massive frame and featureless metal mask, he strikes fear into opponents before the first blow is even struck. This means he can position himself between enemies and vulnerable teammates, drawing aggression and soaking up punishment that would fell lesser warriors. Then, for each attack he blocks or intercepts, his experience and explosive athleticism allows him to build momentum for a devastating counter-strike, bypassing any hesitation his allies might have. Not only that, it also lets him finish off enemies who thought they were safely out of reach (he’s fast for a big guy!), providing tempo and battlefield control to his teammates. Koja’s childhood as a gladiatorial plaything for the “City of the angel” vampires of Constantinople gives him insights into monster-hunting his companions lack.
