Grasping At Straws Is A Sure Way to Drown

Have you ever heard the phrase, “Grasping at straws is a sure way to drown”?

Picture this: someone struggling in deep water, desperately reaching out for anything to keep them afloat—but all they find are a few flimsy straws.

It’s a losing battle….

Albert Einstein put it another way: “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.”

This kind of futile effort is all too common. And here’s the hard truth: there’s no way to truly get ahead unless you’re aligned with the One who holds all power. The Qur’an warns us clearly in 11:113—don’t tie your fate to those who commit great wrongs, no matter how influential they seem.

In today’s world, influence often looks like big stacks of cash and Instagram success. But don’t be fooled—selling yourself short by chasing after these false idols is just another form of grasping at straws.

Here’s where things get really interesting. How do you avoid the traps set by those who seem so powerful yet lead others astray? It starts with seeing the bigger picture, the forces at work that aren’t immediately obvious. And there’s a book that can help you with that: JFK and RFK’s Secret Battle Against Zionist Extremism: The Documentary Evidence by Ken McCarthy.

This isn’t just another read—it’s a guide that uncovers the origins of the hidden forces shaping American policy in Palestine. Ken McCarthy–one of the great underrated activists of our time– lays so much of it out, showing you why some paths are just like those straws in the water—leading nowhere good. If you’re ready to stop grasping at straws and start seeing the truth, this book is a must-read.

I encourage you to check out Ken’s book here and take the first step toward gaining a more informed perspective.

I don’t get any money from Ken’s book sales. He pulls back the curtain on a lot about things people are just too scared to address and thus merits support.

All the best,

Wes
